On this page, I'll answer some FAQs about my process and how I charge. My studio is located in Lake Country, BC but my original paintings can be shipped to most places in the world. I work with my clients to determine the safest and most cost-effective shipping options. If you're local to the Okanagan, I am happy to personally deliver your new painting!

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

HOW DO I COMMISSION A PAINTING? 

If you're interested in commissioning a painting, start by sending me an email with your ideas! I will need the following info... 

1. Reference Photos - a photo of your favorite place and what you love about it!
2. Size - how big you want your painting to be (prices for common canvas sizes are listed below).
3. Details - tell me your ideas! If you like details or colors in previous paintings I have made, tell me what you like as this will help me visualize what you're after. 
4. Where you live - for shipping and delivery options.

I will respond with my current availability and a price quote as soon as possible and we can go from there. 

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO MAKE A PAINTING?

It depends. Some months are busier than others... I accept commission projects as my schedule allows. I will provide you with my current turnaround time during our initial correspondence. You can expect 6-8 weeks from the date the painting is started. ​

WHAT TYPE OF PAINT AND MATERIALS ARE USED?

Unless otherwise discussed, my original paintings are made using artist-grade acrylic paints on gallery stretched canvas.

• Professional-grade (archival) acrylic paints and mediums
• 1.5" deep gallery stretched canvas
• Edges finished black
• Surface finished with UV-resistant varnish (satin finish) to protect from dust and sun damage
• All my paintings are signed on the back of the canvas. Larger paintings are usually signed on the front or side as well. If you want or don't want my name on the front/side, just let me know!
• Wire is installed on the back of the canvas for easy hanging on your wall.

CAN I REQUEST CHANGES TO MY PAINTING?

Yes! I want you to love your new painting. Some clients like to be very involved in the creative process while others prefer me to take the reins and surprise them with the finished painting... both ways are fine with me. If you want to be involved in the process, I will send you some photos early in the process to make sure we're both on the same page regarding the general composition and color palette for the painting. This will be your chance to request changes at no additional charge. After this point, you will need to trust me and my process! When the painting is completed, I will send you some photos before I apply varnish and you will have the option to request last minute changes if necessary. ​

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?

Prices for common canvas sizes are listed below. Feel free to contact me for a quote on canvas sizes not listed.

I use PayPal and Square to facilitate payment transactions. A 50% deposit is collected up front with the remainder due upon completion. Deposits are non-refundable once paid. Payment must be made in full prior to shipping or delivery.​

You may also want to consider purchasing one of my Gift Certificates which can be used towards the purchase of any of my available original paintings or towards a commissioned painting.

EXTRA LARGE PAINTINGS
Extra large paintings (2,000+ square inches) are priced at $0.90/square inch.

SHIPPING & DELIVERY

Shipping - for non-local collectors

​Shipping is available to most places in the world. Please contact me with your location for an accurate shipping quote.  I work with my clients to determine the safest and most cost-effective options. American purchasers are responsible for all additional customs/fees. Painting will ship via Canada Post or a courier ground service packaged securely with bubble wrap in a sturdy cardboard box. 

Pick-up & Delivery - for local collectors

If you are local to the Okanagan, you can also pick-up your painting from my studio in Lake Country (by appointment) or I can arrange to deliver it to you!
