Original Painting by Danielle Harshenin
Acrylic on Cradled Wood Panel
10" x 10"
This painting is part of my Kalamalka Lake series made in 2019. It was made using a high-quality, UV-resistant pouring medium and has a high-gloss finish. This piece has been signed by the artist on the front and back. The edges have been painted black. The back has a wire attached so it is ready to hang as-is.
KALAMALKA LAKE SERIES
This series was inspired by the stunning colors of Kalamalka Lake that can be observed during the summer months. Kalamalka Lake is a natural wonder of the Okanagan valley. It is located between Lake Country and Vernon and is known by locals as the "lake of many colors". When the lake warms during the summer, limestone deposit crystallize and give the water its distinctive green and blue hues. As I drove by the lake this summer, I was enthralled by these colors and wanted to capture them in a series of paintings. You can read more about Kalamalka Lake here.
