ORIGINAL abstract PAINTING BY DANIELLE HARSHENIN
Size: 24" x 18"
Medium: Mixed Media on Canvas
Year Made: 2022
Motherhood is the first painting I made in 2022 after a two-year pandemic-induced break. It is also the first painting that I finished from my Recycling Project series.
Motherhood was created on top of an acrylic pour painting that I made back in 2019. I liked the colors in the original pour painting, but the overall composition was little muddy. I wanted to preserve the sections that I liked (the heart areas) and change the sections I didn't like (the background).
I was inspired to make this piece for Mother's Day. The two hearts are symbolic of a mother's unconditional love for her children. This painting features an ethereal palette of creamy whites, buttery yellows, sky blues, purples and greens.
I filmed the creation of this painting from start to finish. Watch the making of Motherhood.
Motherhood has a wire on the back so it is ready to hang. Edges have been finished with clean black paint. This piece has been signed by the artist on the front and back of the canvas.

Motherhood is the first painting I completed from my Recycling Project series in 2022. All paintings in this series have been created on my old, previously used canvases. I have 200+ canvases to be recycled and have made it my mission to transform these ugly old canvases into beautiful works of art that I can be proud of.
