Title: If You Don't Recycle
Size: 24" x 20" Medium: Mixed Media on Canvas Year Made: 2022 Price: CA$700 If You Don't Recycle is the second painting from my 2022 Recycling Project series. It was created on a recycled (previously used) canvas that I have had in my studio for over 15 years!
The canvas I used to make "If You Don't Recycle" has some sentimental value to me as it was one of the very first canvases that I ever purchased way back in 2006 when I first started painting! I used this canvas for some of my earliest experiments with building texture using acrylic mediums. "If You Don't Recycle" was inspired by Christopher Wool's "If You" series of screen prints. I feel pretty strongly about recycling so I thought this statement was appropriate :-) I filmed the creation of "If You Don't Recycle" from start-to-finish. Watch The Video on my YouTube Channel. This original painting has been signed by the artist on the back of the canvas. Edges are finished with black paint. There is a wire attached so it is ready to hang. |
