Size: 20" x 16" Medium: Mixed Media on Canvas Year Made: 2018 Price: CA$500 Beautiful Disaster is an original abstract painting created in 2018 on a canvas that I had previously used for experimenting with crackle paste. A large section of this canvas was filled with three-dimensional crackling fissures, which was chipping in a few areas. I was determined to breathe new life into this canvas by building on what already existed.
Beautiful Disaster is packed full of texture and depth. Paint was applied using my fluid abstract technique where paint is poured onto the canvas and blown around with air to create organic patterns and fluid movements. There is a stark contrast between the dark and light sections of the canvas which keeps the eye moving around. Edges were finished with clean black paint. There is a wire attached to the back of the canvas for easy hanging. This piece has been signed by the artist on the front and back. |
