BEAUTIFUL DISASTER
Acrylic on Canvas, 20" x 16" Available Beautiful Disaster was created on a canvas that I had previously used for experimenting with crackle paste. A large section of this canvas was filled with three-dimensional crackling fissures, which was chipping in a few areas. I was determined to breathe new life into this canvas and I believe I was successful! Beautiful Disaster is packed full of texture and depth. Paint was applied on the non-crackle areas using my fluid abstract technique. This technique involves pouring paint onto the canvas and blowing it around with air to create organic patterns and fluid movements. There is a stark contrast between the dark and light sections of the canvas which keeps the eye moving around.

SILVER LININGS
Acrylic on Canvas, 24" x 20" Available I try not to play favorites... but, Silver Linings is one of my favorite paintings that I have ever made! This piece is a colourful abstract that was created using my fluid abstract technique, where paint is poured onto the canvas and blown around with air to encourage the colours to flow into one another organically. With this technique, there is a fine line between it "working" and things getting messy! I loved the way this piece turned out. There is a beautiful balance between the light pastel colours and the dark bold colours.

SPACE BOUND
Mixed Media on Canvas, 20" x 24" SOLD Space Bound is a mixed media collage I created in 2018. Subtle combinations of creamy coloured paints and oil pastels create a calm backdrop for a collection of bold collage clippings and paint colours. The right side features an area of paint applied using my fluid abstract technique. The other areas display a collection of images that I found interesting - a map, an astronaut, stars and planets, a crossword puzzle, etc. Most images were obtained from a stack of old National Geographic magazines that I found at a local thrift store! I had a lot of fun making this piece.

VENI - VIDI - VICI
I Came - I Saw - I Conquered Mixed Media on Canvas, 30" x 30" Available Veni Vidi Vici is a strong mixed media piece that I created in 2016. "Veni Vidi Vici" is a Latin phrase attributed to Julius Caesar that translates to "I came, I saw, I conquered".
Veni Vidi Vici is packed full of texture and depth including sections of three-dimensional crackling fissures and other acrylic texture mediums. The primary colour used in this painting is RED - a powerful colour symbolizing passion, aggression, and love. Two flower-shaped sections are filled with collage clippings from old National Geographic magazines. |
