Come on in for a close-up view of my painting Okanagan Lake I. Photos really can't do the stunning colors in this piece justice! I am still learning about how to make good videos - I obviously need to turn my camera around to get a better full-screen view lol. I will be posting videos more regularly to my YouTube page - please subscribe so you don't miss them!
I received amazing new this week... I have been accepted into Lake Country ArtWalk 2019! For those of you who don't know, ArtWalk is the largest art show in the BC interior. Over 200 artists will be there showing their latest and greatest works - including me :) I can't wait. Many of my new paintings will be making their public debut at this show so save the date: September 7 & 8. I hope to see you there!
I have been very productive in my studio this past month! I currently have quite a few new paintings made that I can't wait to share with you all... (and the creative juice is still flowing)! I am patiently waiting for the paint to fully cure so I can take proper photographs of everything. I hope to have all my new work uploaded on my website by the end of June (fingers crossed). Several of my new paintings have been inspired by my surroundings... my new studio is located in the heart of Okanagan Centre overlooking a vineyard and Okanagan Lake - it doesn't get more "Okanagan" than that! I feel so blessed to live in a place this beautiful. For those of you who are interested, I have also been posting regularly to my Facebook page about my new work and art-related adventures. Here is a taste of what is to come...
It has been a busy couple of weeks in my studio! I have recently become obsessed with pour painting and am determined to master this technique. I absolutely LOVE the little "cells" that form in these paintings. This technique is NOT as easy as the YouTube videos make it look and my experiments have been plagued by frustration and failures - with occasional successes as well. However, I will not be deterred! These are a couple of my trials that have turned out. These paintings take a long time to dry so I will need to be patient before I can take better quality photos of them.

I am officially moved into my new home and after long last.... my new studio is ready for me! I am so excited to get in here and get my hands dirty!!! I'm sure this will be the last time this space looks so organized 😂
I am very happy to announce that twelve of my paintings are now available at the Lloyd Gallery in Penticton, BC. This is a charming little gallery nestled in the heart of Penticton. It has a beautiful assortment of Canadian artwork and the owners are such lovely people! You can view my artist page here.
Welcome to my blog! This is my first post. I have not had much time to paint new work over the last two years because in 2016, I decided to go back to school to get my business degree. I am SO happy that I chose to go back to school. However, as that chapter of my life is now coming to an end, I will have more time to get into my studio and paint so I am SO happy about that too!! I will be moving at the end of March and my new home has an awesome studio space for me. I'm very excited for this next chapter and cannot wait to start painting again!! Will post again soon, stay tuned :)
