COMMISSION WORK
(Custom-made paintings)

I am always open to working on commission projects.

Commissioned artwork is a collaboration process between the Artist and the Client – taking the Client's ideas, needs and preferences, and combining them with the Artist's ideas, skills and creativity. It's a convenient alternative to looking for ready-made artwork, as it is created specifically for your space. Custom-made paintings are sure to add a very unique touch to your home or business.

I offer very reasonable rates. Pieces can usually be competed within two weeks time (depending on the scale and work hours involved). Please Contact me with any questions, or for a quote. I will respond within 24 hours.

SOME OF THE REASONS PEOPLE HAVE COMMISSIONED ARTWORK MADE:
  • Seeking artwork that will integrate perfectly into existing home/business décor, and/or that is suitable for available wall space.
  • They like one of my painting's but…
need it in a different size
would like it on multiple canvas panels instead of a solo panel (or vice versa)
it has sold, and would like something similar recreated
would like it in different colors and/or with a couple changes
  • Like my style of work, but have unique ideas of their own that they would like me to bring to life for them.
  • Special Gifts (Christmas, House Warming, Birthdays, Engagements, Weddings, etc.)
  • Celebrating the arrival of new baby, and would like a unique addition to a modern nursery.
  • Finishing touches for redecorated spaces, renovations or new constructions.
  • Show homes / Home staging.

THE COMMISSION PROCESS

1. Initial Inquiry / Information Gathering

The commission process begins with the client's initial inquiry. This is a time to tell me what you are looking for and explain any ideas that you may have. Knowing the dimensions you're looking for is essential for quoting purposes. Other useful information includes: details and/or photos of your décor style, colours you're interested in having incorporated, ideas you have regarding the "theme", or any additional specifications. Before inquiring, you are also welcome to browse my Gallery for paintings (sold or available) that you like the general composition of, to help better describe to me what you are looking for.

2. Quote / Rough Sketches

Once I have gathered enough information from you, I will be able to produce a quote. Upon request, I can also produce some rough sketches for you at this time, for assurance that we are thinking in the same direction.

3. Contract / Deposit

Once you decide to proceed, a contract will be made which outlines the completion deadline and painting specifications we have agreed to. At the time of contract signing, a 50% deposit (of the total quoted amount) will be taken. Once these steps are completed, work on your custom painting begins!

4. In progress…

If you would like to be involved along the way, I am also able to provide you with progress pictures (via email), so you can see your custom creations come to life. This captures the life of the painting from blank canvas to finished product. Or, surprise-lover's also have the option to keep it a secret for the grand unveiling when completed.

5. Completed Work / Delivery

Once work has been completed, I will notify you by phone or email, and we will arrange a mutually convenient time and location for pick-up or delivery. I offer free delivery (of order's totalling $200 or more), within the central Okanagan. Delivered works will be unwrapped so you are able to inspect the pieces upon arrival. Once inspected, the remainder of payment will be due immediately. (Please note, payments via personal cheque or PayPal must be cleared before artwork can be taken).

Christmas present for a significant other. Liked "Bohemian Solstice", wanted an Egyptian themed version, as that is where the client fell in love with her husband…. made: "Egyptian Love". 4 Symbols which were incorporated were: Egyptian Hieroglyphics for Man & Woman, the Ankh (symbol of life), and the Eye of Horus (symbol of protection).
